Background
College of Engineering And Technology
College of Engineering and Technology is one of the colleges established in Mettu University. The college was established in September 2011 (Meskerem 2004E.C) with three departments. It is now the leading faculty in the university in hosting large number of students having seven departments. Recently, the faculty has 124 members of academic staff and about 13 administrative and supporting staff.
College of Engineering and Technology is led by a College Dean. There are three coordinators namely, Reform & Quality Assurance, Research & Community Service and Gender Affairs coordinators under the dean. Currently, there are over 3000 undergraduate students enrolled in various programs of the faculty.

College of Engineering and Technology has recently seven departments. These are:-

Facilities
The college has sufficient classrooms with necessary classroom facilities. There is one Engineering library, which is for engineering and technology students. The faculty has six laboratories where students carry out experimental activities. Each department has its own computer laboratory. Students go to other universities for their laboratory works in case when there is no laboratory facilities for some courses. The internet facility is also improving to meet current demand of academic staff and students. There are volleyball and football pitches for recreation.

College of Engineering and Technology has four PhD and three Assistant professors, 62 MSc instructors, 30 BSc assistant lecturers and 25 laboratory technicians.
