Welcome to Mattu University website. Mattu University ( here after referred as MaU), was established in an eye and mind catching ever green scenery in 2011G.C. If one googles, he/she comes to know that MaU main campus is located nearer to UNESCO registered Yayu biosphere. On the basis of mandate it is bestowed with, MaU has been making a radical improvement in teaching learning, research undertakings and community engagement endeavours every year comes and out. To mention some of its progress, MaU began the teaching learning under two faculties by enrolling only 300 undergraduate students in 2012. With the tireless efforts of the whole university community, tremendous achievement has been made in boosting undergraduate and graduate intake capacity of MaU. Hence, more than 16, 000 students are enrolled in varied programs. The university is also striving a lot to produce qualified graduates whose mind, heart and hand are on. This is evident from establishment of several physical and chemical laboratories, workshops and digital libraries within a decade.
Concerning the second most important mission of MaU, we are investing resources we have on research projects that could play a significant role in improving the livelihood and wellbeing of the society. To achieve this, thematic areas were identified by carrying out periodic needs analysis and stakeholder consultative meetings. Through such a scientific procedure, research priorities and areas of focus were set and revised every three years.
On the top of these, our vision is to be renowned university in outreach and community engagement. We believe community engagement is the nucleus of our work and is a process that calls for mobilization of financial and human resources to transform communities in the university’s catchment.
Finally, I hope this brief introduction about teaching, research and community engagement shall arouse your interest to get connected with our young and vibrant academic staffs in order to forge possible partnership or collaboration.
