Mettu University has made a discussion with Ecological Products of Ethiopia (ecopia) to establish Technology and Business Incubation center in the University. On the discussion Bedilu Teka (PhD) Vice President for Research, Community Service and Collaboration of Mettu University stated on the discussion, there is knowledge and skill which can empower researchers and entrepreneurs to solve the societal problems of the community. Therefore, if such incubation centers established in collaboration with companies it can promotes the available potentials of the university.

Dr. Mistilal K/Yesus the CEO of ecopia, also stated that establishing Technological and Business Incubation centers create  a platform to support young entrepreneurs advance ideas on innovative solutions for different enterprises in the economic development.

Meanwhile both parties agreed to work on developing technology and business incubation center in collaborating.
