(PIRE)-Mattu University is strengthening the quality, reliability, and technical competence of its laboratory services through the implementation of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Management System (LMS).

As part of this effort, a five-day training on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Management System Implementation is being provided to Mattu University instructors and laboratory technical assistants directly engaged in laboratory activities. The training is being delivered by experts from the Institute of Ethiopian Standards (IES).

The training aims to build participants’ knowledge and practical capacity to effectively apply the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in laboratory operations. It focuses on translating the standard into practical procedures, clearly defined responsibilities, controlled documentation and records, quality-management practices, and technically sound laboratory processes.

The initiative represents an important step in the University’s efforts to standardize laboratory operations, strengthen laboratory management systems, enhance the reliability of laboratory results, and prepare selected laboratories for accreditation in line with internationally recognized requirements for laboratory competence.

Beyond accreditation readiness, the implementation of the Laboratory Management System is expected to contribute to the development of a consistent and quality-oriented laboratory environment that supports teaching and learning, research, community service, and other laboratory-based activities.

Through this initiative, Mattu University continues to invest in the professional capacity of its laboratory personnel and in the development of laboratory services that meet recognized standards of quality, competence, reliability, and continual improvement.

We're dedicated to serve the community!
