Mr. Tekalign Assefa
The College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) opened its doors in 2012. It welcomed 216 students from the Ministry of Education and began offering courses in four departments: English Language and Literature, Geography and Environmental Studies, Afan Oromo Literature, and Sociology.
Over the years, CSSH has expanded its offerings. In 2007, the college added Civics and Ethical Studies and Oromo Folklore departments. Then, in 2014, two more departments were approved and opened: Gadaa & Indigenous Knowledge, and Journalism & Communication.
Dear students, academics, and administrative staff, welcome to CSSH! We at CSSH strive to train the next generation of skilled and responsible professionals who can contribute meaningfully to society. That's why we pay close attention to everything from facilities and teaching methods to the integration and coherence of our programs. We also prioritize practical and research-oriented courses to ensure our graduates excel in their chosen fields.
My colleagues and I are committed to your success. Through our various programs, you will develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude to become outstanding educators who can drive positive change and promote quality education throughout Ethiopia.
